Really. I should have known.
After the rambling old woman ran me down with her cart, the Safeway clerk impatiently pushed past me nearly knocking me into a guy with a fresh cup of Starbucks, I witnessed a man unbuckle his belt, unbutton and unzip his pants, tuck in his t-shirt and then re-button buckle and zip.
“Ohforfucksake…” I may have said too loudly.

I woke up this morning with my nonexistent ovaries aching. I’m not sure how they can ache when they’ve been removed but nonetheless they hurt.
